概要: In China, a large-scale construction has nationally been progressing for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. As a part of the urban renewal, then, not only extension of roads and rebuilding of traditional residence but also reconstruction of the railroad areas and a highways have been progressing at a rapid pace. Especially Beijing, that is the venue of the Olympic games, is the most typical example. There is a residential area,which is made up of several-story apartment buildings and traditional one-story houses, in one corner of the school area where the universities are concentrated. One small street passes through from north to south in this block. Although a lot of small stores restaurants stand side by side along this street, not only some of those but also the traditional residential quarters in the back of them have been pulled down in order to widen the street. This construction contains some of the problems, such as the length of the period from the notification to its start,compensation of the expense accompanying relocation of those stores and the residents,the inconvenience of the purchasing activities for the neighboring residents,etc. Some of the examination,therefore,is performed for the alternatives referring to the concrete progress situation about this construction. 続きを見る

概要: Bamboo charcoal,which is the solid ingredient of bamboo,is produced by dry-distilling the raw material of bamboo in the sealing type electric furnace for the experiment(experiment furnace). The main purpose of this experiment is to decide the optimal temperature and the length of maintenance time for producing high quality bamboo charcoal. Consequently, the following knowledge was acquired. 1)When the furnace temperature is raised quickly, the bamboo charcoal gets cracks, and becomes fragile. It is, therefore, necessary to set the gradual heat decomposition temperature range of the bamboo material by the dry distillation,and secure the sufficient maintenance time. 2)In order to promote carbonization, it is impor-tant to maintain the temperature after the dry distillation temperature is gradually raised to the upper limit temperature of800℃. 3)It has not resulted in decision of the setting temperature and the length of the maintenance time, since it is difficult to produce uniform bamboo charcoal in quality, and moreover the visual observation performed by the knowledge acquired through experience can not be used. In considera-tion of these points above,not only striving for collecting further data through the experimental furnace but also trying to produce higher quality bamboo charcoal which is equal to evaluation by using the metal bamboo charcoal kiln. 続きを見る

概要: It is said that the main causes of the respiratory diseases are the air pollution, cigarette, and as bes­tos. According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the mesothelioma due to the asbestos will appear between 30 and 40 years after breathing it in, and this disease is one of the major problem in the society. On our campus, for example, it is possible that the minute quantity of chemicals used in the laboratories and other facilities evaporate and disperse through the air. The existence of this evapo­ration and the diffusion of the chemicals can be easily proved by simple observation whether the build­ings and the equipments have suffered corrosion or not. In this study, the corrosion has clearly been observed, and is attributed to the post-processing of the equipments, the failure of the draft chambers and the piping systems. Since the corrosion has been found to have occurred, it is suggested that there is a possibility of the Articles 1 and 3 of the labor security and hygiene law becoming involved.
