概要: Interactive Evolutionary Computation (IEC) is well known approach searching good solutions for each user in terms of finding good graphics, sounds, and music pieces. This study aims to propose IEC with multiple users for creating fragrance. The fragrances are composed of several aroma sources; therefore, target of the proposed method is to optimize intensity of each source aroma. While the general IEC searches good solutions for each of the users, the proposed method can search good or optimal solution between the users by changing good solutions between the users during the search. In this study, a concrete system was constructed to show a fundamental efficiency of the proposed method. 続きを見る

概要: Estimation methods of frequency response functions only using one-shot closed-loop step response data have been proposed . Estimated frequency response functions are utilized to improve control performance of closed-loop systems. This paper examines the effects of controller gains and prefilters, which are introduced to make the discrete Fourier transform applicable to closed-loop step response data, on estimation results of a frequency response function through numerical simulations. 続きを見る

概要: This IoT faucet including sensor nodes has been developed to monitor the usage of the indoor faucets. The usage logs of the IoT faucets in kitchens and bathrooms can be used to determine if residents are safe. As the IoT faucet is an indirect activity monitoring system, the advantage is that the effort of both the watcher and the watched person is reduced. This paper is a preliminary discussion of our efforts through trial and error to install the IoT faucets as part of an activity monitoring system. As an experimental result, the usage of the IoT faucet was detected and the activity could be estimated under the condition that the difference between the room temperature and the water temperature of the IoT faucet was more than 0.6 degrees Celsius. 続きを見る

概要: Various natural disasters such as earthquakes, typhoons, and heavy rains occur every year in Japan. When a natural disaster occurs, each local government establishes disaster response headquarters and makes efforts for disaster response. However, since a large amount of information is gathered at the disaster response headquarters, it is difficult to quickly organize and share these pieces of information. Therefore, we developed a public assistance system to support quick disaster response by utilizing past disaster response records. 概要: Our research group has established a technique to make three-dimensional cell constructs using only cells. The cell constructs are made using spheroids consisting of only cells. The quality of the spheroids is important as it is necessary to provide reproducible spheroids. Therefore, it is necessary to morphologically evaluate spheroids non-invasively. The quality of spheroids was evaluated regarding area, diameter, and circularity. However, the concentration distribution of the spheroids had not previously been visualized. This study aimed to visualize the cell distribution inside spheroids using pseudo-color display processing. By applying pseudo-color processing to the grayscale spheroid images, we succeeded in visually grasping cell distribution and shape. In the future, we will actually observe inside the spheroid and aim to further improve the accuracy by correlating with the specific conditions. 続きを見る

概要: Along with the development of non-invasive techniques for the high accuracy measurement of blood pressure on the finger, the investigation of finger pulse volume (PV) variability has been attracted considerable interest. Modified normalized pulse volume (mNPV) has the potential to be a practical index for the determination method of mean arterial pressure (MAP) based on the volume clamp method due to its very sensitive to vasoconstrictor stimuli on the finger. However, MAP derived by mNPV has not yet been investigated. Therefore, we compared MAP measured by sphygmomanometer as a reference, with MAP derived by the PV and mNPV using the developed prototype system during baseline in ten young subjects. The results gave mean differences in Bland-Altman plots between the measured MAP and MAP derived by PV and mNPV of 1.86 ± 6.49 (standard deviation) and -2.54 ± 8.12, respectively. mNPV is discussed in terms of the availability for determination of MAP based on VCM. In conclusion, mNPV is a valid approach, which might be useful for the calibration index of MAP derived by PV. 続きを見る

概要: The freehand 3D ultrasound is useful technique to acquire 3D ultrasound volume using a conventional 2D ultrasound transducer. The technique constructs 3D volume using 2D image and positional information. Meanwhile, it has two technical issues to widely apply in clinical setting. Firstly, position sensor is expensive and needs to prepare for use. Another is high computational cost in volume construction. To address the issue, orientation measurement by a low-cost inertial measurement sensor and highspeed volume construction using parallel computing technology by a graphics processing unit were proposed. In this study, the potential of this approach is investigated and 3D volume reconstruction was demonstrated. 続きを見る

概要: In this research, in order to realize the IoT -DRR, we first verify the debris flow reaches the river way and flows down, in the case of a river blocked by earth and sand once, after the water accumulates and collapses at a stretch and a bore occurs or when a steep wave rises due to a sudden rise in water level due to the release of the dam. The time step of observation for the conventional water level sensor is not suitable, because it cannot capture the rapid bore phenomena, we propose a system to replace the conventional water level sensor and prediction system. After that, we also propose a system to inform the warning with network of the river bed and height of terminals and sensors. These advantage is already certified for patent in Japan. 続きを見る

概要: Second space exposure experiment “TANPOPO 2” on the International Space Station was planned for study of origin of life. Authors were tried to synthesis peptides those are condensation products of amino acids, because peptides syntheses are the most important step for the producing proteins on the primitive Earth before the first life aperance. Although, in our preliminary experiments in the first space exposure experiment “TANPOPO”, authors found dialanine that is a dipeptide from amino acid, alanine, the experimental result was not enough to conclude peptide formed in the space. Therefore, precise experiments were planned in the “TANPOPO2”. Stable isotope labeled alanine was used for preventing the biological contamination, three different patterns of amino acids were chosen to conclude wide variety peptides formation. In this experiment, thin film formation apparatus using vaporization of amino acids, spectrometry of vacuum ultraviolet adsorption were prepared for the space experiment.
